Telconet S.A., along with its affiliate Megadatos S.A. ("Grupo Telconet") proudly announces the closing of a USD 50 million 5-year term loan (the “Initial Tranche”) of an international syndicated loan facility (the “Facility”). This transaction supports Grupo Telconet as it continues to invest in its long-term strategic vision including becoming a regional player with the deployment of the Carnival Submarine Networks (“CSN-1”) sub-sea cable project, as well as continued growth of its fiber-to-the-home and B2B businesses in Ecuador.
The support from international banks and investors is a testament to the company’s financial strength, market leadership, and visionary investments in critical digital infrastructure assets positively impacting a number of countries across the region.
The Facility can be increased up to USD 120 million which enables Grupo Telconet to access further financing in the near future in the form of participation from new international investors, as well as participation from Ecuadorean banks. ArtCap Strategies acted as Sole Lead Arranger and Administrative Agent on the transaction.
